Depending on the case type, non-confidential documents may be viewed online or in person.
Online:
Documents in Decedents' Estates and Trust Proceedings may be viewed and downloaded, for a fee, from the online Register of Actions (ROA). Conservatorships and Guardianships are restricted from remote access, pursuant to California Rules of Court, rule 2.503(c).
In Person:
Non-confidential documents in all case types may be viewed, at no charge, at an ROA Kiosk in the Probate Business offices at the Central Division located at 1100 Union Street, San Diego, California 92101, or the North County Division located at 325 S. Melrose Dr., Vista, California 92081.
Please Note: If a case has not been electronically imaged, it will have to be retrieved from the Court’s offsite storage facility, the offsite storage retrieval fee will be assessed per file requested. Please refer to the current version of the Court’s Fee Schedule to determine the costs for copies and off-site retrieval. A certified or informational copy of the death certificate must be submitted before a Will is ordered from storage or viewed in the probate business office.
